Brief Answer:
Mefenenamic acid>ibuprofen>paracetamol as antipyre

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthCareMagic. Most of the fever in children are due to viral causes. High temperature is a cause of concern and need to be controlled immediately to prevent brain damage. Sponging with water at room temperature should give relief. Although paracetamol is mostly used, ibuprofen is more effective antipyretic and can be given. Metal P contains mefenenamic acid which is even more effective and works for a longer duration and can be given too. But do not give all the three. The minimum gap between any of these medicines should be 3-4 hours.

Hope that answers your query. Feel free to revert back with further queries if any.

Brief Answer:
Meftal P can be given

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Syr Metal P - 5 ml should be right for your child. Giving once should keep the fever in control for 6-8 hours. Please continue giving cold sponging. Take the child to a pediatrician after getting the blood counts and CRP if the child does not feed well.
