Suggest Treatment For Fibroadenoma In The Breast

Question: My daughter has a fybroademona had a core biosy to confirm. Last U/s said that it was stable slightly more hyperogenous
With internal hypoechos area.

Thanks for the query to hcm,
The report says central heterogenous area which can mean central necrosis inside the fibroadenoma. In any case it would be better to remove the fibroadenoma surgically with such central hetereogenousity.

The doctor said to keep having U/S ever year. She said nothing about being in the centre. She said not to cut them out if they are large.

The mass is suspected to be a fibroadenoma but even though the mass is heterogenous, there are hypoechoeic internal echoes which can be confused for cancerous changes and hence follow up with USG has been recommended . Though it is unlikely usually as fibroadenoma is a benign tumour.

It is not malignant at all.

Thank you so much sorry for all the question I just got scared that it was breast cancer shes inly 22. So its ok to have U/s every year? And fybroademones dont turn to cancer. Thank you

Yes , from routine examination point of view, its fine to have an yearly ultrasound followup.
Fibroadenoma is a benign lesion and do not turn malignant.
