Suggest Treatment For Fibrosis After Hemorrhoid Surgery

Question: Hi! My question is that my wife had hemorrhoid surgery and the surgeon for some reason told her that she would not want to have anal sex after he was done. Which has got her scared of it. We were anal sex active before the surgery but now she is scared to death of it. why would he tell her that? Is he some one against anal sex or is there a good reason? I have read stories of other people that have had that surgery and they say wait till it heals and its ok. Why not her?
Brief Answer:
Because of the fibrosis after surgery it will be difficult
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in
May I know what procedure was performed for the removal of hemorrhoids ?
Usually after most invasive surgery there is adequate fibrosis so the passage will narrow down making penetration painful and difficult, but if it is comfortable once it heals there should be no problem
In the immediate postoperative period it will not be possible till it has healed
Hope this helps

She had internal and external with staples inside. I understand we need to wait till it heals it has been 3 months now but when she asked the surgeon about how long we would have to wait for anal sex he told her when im finished you will never want to do it again. why? it was supposed to help with getting rid of them. Now she says we will never have it again because he said so. She says her poop is real small coming out and I have read where they can sew you up to tight and it is difficult to poop or have anal sex. I have read some people use graduated butt plugs to stretch it back out is this possible for her or not? He has her scared to death but we had anal sex before this.
Brief Answer:
Probably anal stenosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information
It seems your wife has developed anal stenosis, a known consequence of stappler surgery
Ask your surgeon to prescribe an anal dilator for your wife it might help to some extent in dilating the passage
For Anal sex I would suggest you you wait till it has completely healed and the comfort level is tolerably good on first attempt
Hope this clears your doubts
Wishing your wife a healthy life ahead

Is this something that can work out with an anal dialator or will this be a tight hole from now on and sex not be possible at all? From what I read we should wait 8 months to a year for all healing to happen?
Brief Answer:
Needs clinical evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in again
The extent of fibrosis can be judged only after clinical evaluation, it is advisable you get the opinion of your surgeon after getting her examined clinically
Usually it is six weeks to three months to heal completely and later all practical aspects after clinical evaluation
Hope this helps
Do not hesitate to write back in case of concern

It has been 3 months and she says it still hurts to even wipe her butt when she poops. She did tear a little bit back there when she was stapled & she went in to see surgeon and he told her she was fine no big deal the roads she had went from inside to the outside. When we went for the pre-op in his office she talked to him about anal sex before he did this his very words in front of me and her were that ANAL Sex IS DONE YOU WONT BE DOING IT ANYMORE. And he said it with an attitude I didn't like I don't think that was professional at all.
Brief Answer:
In some cases it takes time to heal
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your followup
It is unfortunate that your wife is one of those patients who take time to heal
In some cases it has been observed that patients have some complains for a longer duration
I think if your surgeon feels clinically she is Ok it is better to wait
I cannot comment on why he said so but if he has advised to refrain it would be better you ask him why so ?
I would suggest you wait till it completely heals and then get her examined clinically and if everything is Ok ask the surgeon again for anal sex
Hope this helps
