Suggest Treatment For Flaky, Discoloured Patch On Scrotum

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Apr 2015
Question: Hi,
I have a flaky, discoloured patch on my scrotum.
It's not itchy, and it doesn't hurt at all. It's just a little flaky and a different colour than
the rest of my scrotum. I do work out, weight train, about 4 times a week and I do sweat down there quite a lot. I also have small sebaceous cysts on my scrotum, which from some research I gather they are related to sweating. Could this be similar? Also perhaps it's jock itch or some type of yeast infection?
I have attached an image if it helps..
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query,

You might have developed fungal infection. The area of groin is very moist and is prone to develop these infections.
Treatment can be with topical antifungals. Oral antifungals may be added if the problem is severe and recurrent. I treat such patients with topical clotrimazole powder and oral flaconazole. These can help reduce the moisture as well as control the infection. You too can try this.

sebaceous cyst forms due to collection of debris and needs to be removed surgically.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.
Wishing you good health,
Thank you
