Brief Answer:
Yes, ophthalmologist but I also recommend a physician consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. An ophthalmologist consultation in general would be recommended in this case, but I would also like to recommend a visit to a physician because in certain conditions like diabetes mellitus, medication associated hypoglycaemia, hypertension, migraine headaches, etc.

But the most common cause for flashes are relating to the eye, and as you must be knowing (because you asked if you should consult a retina specialist) are retinal detachment and/or reduction in vitreous humour of the eye (associated with uveitis or glaucoma).

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write to me anytime, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
