Question: 11 weeks pregnant and not sure if i have early flu symptoms or the common cold. I received the flu shot about one month ago but i work with children and am concerned i caught a flu bug from one of them. I keep reading online that i could die and am needing some pisitive reinforcement here... When do i go and see my doctor?

Brief Answer:
flu would have severe symptoms

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms of the flu are normally much more severe than those of the common cold.

There is normally joint and muscle pain, intense fatigue (though may be hard to distinguish from fatigue of pregnancy), headaches, persisting fever, eye pain along with the cough, nasal congestion and sore throat.

The common cold would have the cough, nasal symptoms, mild fever etc but would not have the pains, severe headaches etc

Most persons with the flu do not die though it is possible in a very small portion of perons. If you are other wise healthy this further reduces this possibility.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
