Suggest Treatment For Fluctuating BP Readings And Knee Pain

Question: I monitor my BP regularly-- Typicaly it is 120/75 --Yesterday & today it well elevated. 180/90. I am medicated with Hydroclorothiazide, Amlodipine and metropolil for pressure and well as Ace inhibitor beta blocker etc. I have had bypass about 14 years ago. I have pain on my knee which I believe is unrelated.. Difficult to reach my Dr. Am I a candidate for emergency room treatment

I am so sorry to hear about this increased blood pressure. It is certainly a cause of concern but not serious enough to warrant an ER visit at this time. I believe the knee pain is contributing to this as pain is also a cause for increased blood pressure. For now, take Tylenol and Ibuprofen for the pains, monitor your blood pressure and only seek further care if this stays elevate or increases beyond 180/90.
