Suggest Treatment For Folliculitis On Skin
Question: Hello,
I have the following question. Some time ago I noticed that isolated sores appear on my body from time to time. They do not have a certain location, i.e. can appear on any place of the body. There can be only one, two, XXXXXXX three sores at the same time. They stay for quite a long time and do not react on lotions with alcohol or creams with antibiotics. I've attached a couple of pictures. Could you help me to figure out what it is and what is the right treatment for it?

Please let me know if they are still not attached.
Brief Answer:
Likely to be folliculitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have seen the images attached.
The lesions that you have are likely to be due to folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin.It starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle.
Use a topical corticosteroid-antibiotic (betamethasone-fusidic acid) combination cream that am sure any local pharmacist will supply you OTC (over the counter) in a situation such as this. Please feel free to take a copy of this transcript/discussion that may help you with the pharmacist. This cream may be applied to the individual bites twice/day for 2-3 days.
There is a topical antibiotic cream which might also provide benefits. This is referred to as mupirocin. This is a very good topical antibiotic that can be safely used.
In case the lesions are recurrent do consult a dermatologist for proper investigations.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
