Brief Answer:
Dont worry, antibiotics will work.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Glad to hear from you once again.
Of course it will work.
Folliculitis responds very well to antibiotics, why should you worry about it ?
You have been given a 7 day course, you should see an improvement in 3 - 4 days ' time.
Yes, you can use the powder and the antibiotic at the same time.
Stress and emotional upheaval will only worsen such infections, so try and have some positive thinking !
Folliculitis clears up dramatically when antibiotics are taken.
Just dont touch that area at all, to minimum extent.
Yes, if Bactrim does not work, you would need a proper swab and culture to see which antibiotic will work.
Keep me posted on how it goes !
Take care.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
Please dont feel so depressed.
This is not at all a big thing.
It is a minor infection, and will go away.
It is strange that it has not responded to 5 days of antibiotics.
An I am not able to view the recent pics :(
Have you uploaded them yet ?
Please do so at the earliest, if you have not.

Brief Answer:
Get a culture done and antibiotics accordingly.
Detailed Answer:
Yes I have gone through the pics.
Unfortunately, you are right.
There is just no improvement.
THat lump / bump is an infected hair follicle, it is turning into an abscess.
I think you need to have a culture of the area, and take proper antibiotics as per the culture report.
Bactrim is obviously not working in your case.
Please consult your OB - GYN again, and ask for a culture, and then take a repeat course of appropriate antibiotics as dictated by the culture report.
I understand this can be very distressing, but believe me, this is a minor infection and nothing very serious.
Just that a higher dosage of another antibiotic is required.
And use local antibiotic cream such as Mupirocin cream / gel.
Take care.

ok thank you I will go to my obgyn monday or tuesday n I will ask for a.culture I will keep you updated thank you so much for your support
Brief Answer:
As below
Detailed Answer:
Please do that.
I am very sure it needs a change of drug and higher dosage.
Also local antibiotic cream.
Make sure the area is kept dry all the time.
You can use Nystatin dusting powder ( it is an antibacterial powder ) that keeps the area dry.
Moisture and dampness will worsen the problem.
Change your undergarments frequently.
Dont use any special cleansers, gels or douches.
Plain lukewarm water is best for cleaning.
Clean your hands with antibacterial soap after you have touched the area.
I can understand how much this is affecting you, but you have to trust me that it is not a very serious issue, just give it time, it will clear up.
Keep me informed.
God bless you.
