Question: I have a pain in my right right ear that comes and goes every other day or so that is so painful I can't touch it .when this happens even moving my mouth to eat is very painful.

hello and thanks for sending the question. At this point it sounds like you might have some type of infection.

fact that you have significant pain which includes pain while moving your mouth or jaw is suspicious for infection. At this point it would be recommended that you have a good clinical examination. If your physician thinks it is warranted, he or she might recommend antibiotic treatment.

if antibiotics are not successful in improving your symptoms some type of additional diagnostic testing might be indicated.

at this point I would try to make an appointment with your primary care physician for a good examination which would include looking inside your ear canal as well as checking inside the mouth in addition to checking lymph node regions in the head and neck.
