Just had angioplasty surgery 3 days ago, had 1 major artery blockage cleared with 3 stents inserted.
Heart beat dropped to 20 during surgery, pacer put in for 2 days, now heart beat resumed to avg. 60,
which were my normal B4. Currently on Plavix, aspirin & Lipitor, had these drugs B4, however, developed
frequent dizziness, appreciate if u could help to identify what could be the cause(s). Thx

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Dizziness is a common finding in patients who had just recently a coronary blockage (coronary acute syndrome) and had done angioplasty.
This situation may be associated with instability in your HR (as was observed during the first 2 days), and BP.
If you were my patient I would recommend to do as follows:
- Cardiac echo after the angioplasty to see heart function (exclude any heart damage)
- Heart rate monitoring
- Blood pressure monitoring
This will help to identify the cause of dizziness.
If everything is fine than you shouldn't worry it will be gone within a couple of days.
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

The dizziness, is it possible caused by change in blood flow, and it takes time for body to adjust?
Thx
Thank you for yr reply Dr. Shehu!
I'll see my cardiologist ASAP to eliminate items u suggested.
Hopefully, all's fine & problem goes away soon.
Thanks again!

Hi back,
Yes this is another way to express the imstability of blood pressure (BP). The drop in BP will be associated with a drop in blood flow in your had causing dizziness.
This is why it's important to closely monitor BP and HR.
It needs a couple of days to turn everything to normal again.
