Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination And Excessive Thirst
I have attached the reports attached herewith. Please advise and what are the possible reasons for these exceptions.
Liver function seems upset
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
I saw the reports. The report showing abnormal liver function, lymphocytosis, raised lipids and somewhat high HbA1C. Let me explain this one at a time.
In liver test, ggt is abnormal. It suggests either alcohol intake, some medicine side effect or some liver infection. Thankfully the bilirubin is normal that means yellowing of eyes wont be there. Can also take syr Liv52 1 tbsp 2 times a day to improve liver function. In view of liver issues, levipil should be taken under precautions. Zeptol can cause both dry mouth and liver issues. So discuss with an internal medicine specialist about these issues and get your medicine adjusted accordingly.
Lymphocystosis usually happens due to some viral infection. Did you have any viral when you took the tests? If not, then raised ggt may be due to a viral hepatitis.
Raised lipids are not that bad to need medicines. But lifestyle changes should be adapted. I diet please avoid high calorie foods like cheese, butter, ghee, sweets, etc. You need to exercise atleast 20 min a day.
High HbA1C suggests somewhat high sugar levels during the last 3 months. The thirst may be due to this. This does not mean that you need medicines for it. But you do need to take a low sugar diet. Avoid foods like potato, banana, grapes, custard apple, sugar and foods that contain sugar, refined cereals and its products like white bread and corn bread, white rice, corn and its products. Also the regular milk flavoring powders like chocolate mixes etc. have added sugar. Fiber is important and you must ensure a liberal intake of vegetables and salads. Foods that can be taken are low fat dairy, vegetables and fruits (except those mentioned above), whole grains and cereals, salads, oats, barley, pulses and non-sugary peanut butter.
Hope it helps.

This liver profile usually happens due to alcohol
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
This liver profile is usually seen with alcohol intake. Other cause can be medicine intake. All medicines are metabolized in liver. In the process they also affect it. Paracetamol and pain killers are also to be avoided. Liver infection can be confirmed with hepatitis a, b, c serology. Before taking the infection serology I will suggest that you avoid alcohol completely and also take medicines that you do not affect liver. Recheck the liver profile in one month and other abnormal tests in three months.
Hope it helps.

Few more questions:
1. I don't take alcohol regularly. I am taking alcohol once in 3 months not more than 30 ml since last 6 months. This abnormal behavior is due to only alcohol intake ?
2. My Blood Sugar Reports are normal but as you mentioned HbA1C indicates high sugar levels. Should I be concerned about it as nothing is reflected in my Blood Sugar Report
3. Is there any relationship between high cholesterol and sugar levels. Should I focus on cholesterol first and then on sugar or on both at the same time ?
Carbamazepine may cause liver upset
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I will answer your questions one by one.
1. Alcohol alone does not seem to be responsible in your case
2. HbA1C is high and represents on and off high blood sugars during past 3 months. One fasting sugar report is normal but at other times it may be raised. I would suggest you get a glucometer and monitor your blood sugar levels at home. This will help you modify your diet according to your sugar levels.
3. People who get high sugar may also get high cholesterol and high blood pressure alongwith. Thus all three should be routinely monitored. Though there is no direct association between them.
You should focus on both sugar and lipids at the same time. Restrict your diet. You can get a diet from from dietician at HealthcareMagic.
Zeptol may be the culprit for liver dysfunction. Both medicines should be taken with precaution if liver function is not good. You should consult a local doctor preferably an internal medicine specialist within a week or so.
Yes take the liv 52 for a month and recheck liver profile. But the best treatment is to avoid any agent that is causing damage to liver. Drink safer water preferably from RO system.
