You mention itchiness, and the fact that both sorts of creams, for fungal infections as well as dermatitis have been prescribed.

I can understand that you are concerned as to what these brown spots are.

However, do note that just a day has passed since you have begun the treatment. The probability is high that they will resolve in 2 weeks time- the average time it takes for healing of skin lesions by application of topical creams.

Therefore, the answer is to continue with both creams.

I strongly feel that these discolored spots are due to melanin deposits and keratocytes. Thus, the best way to palliate them is to use a cream containing a chemical called Hydroquinone.

I suggest that you avoid any steroidal creams because they tend to intensify and exacerbate any existing or latent fungal infections.

According to me these lesions specifically do not look like eruptions of STI, namely HPV, at all.

This leaves idiosyncratic causes like auto immune issues and of course, dermatitis.

Since I have specifically explored all angles of the question you have asked, I would encourage you to ask any further questions if you do have any doubts.

I don't feel it's scabies because:

1) Scabies is a generalized skin problem which erupts and causes itching over large areas as opposed to a restricted area as you describe it.

2) Scabies has a classic pattern of itching erupting specifically at night or worsening then.

3) The lesions - brown spots - are not indicative of scabies - as in scabies there are no specific lesions - just burrows of the mite "sarcoptes scabie".

I'll still suggest to kindly repeat what I advised in the previous answer - apply both the creams - twice a day - and wait for at least 2 weeks - and give the antifungal medication time to work.

It's obvious that creams need to be applied regularly for a few weeks - and not just once.

You can ignore the scabies medication. Because it doesn't appearing like scabies.
