Fungal infections are not fatal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i share your anxiety full.
Fungal infection in bladder isn't a common condition.
The condition is confirmed by certain tests.
Unless you can send a copy of the tests done so far,it's difficult to advise you.
Don't get so upset.
Let me know if you've any discharge,or itching at the vaginal area.
Kindly send a copy of tests like ;
1. urine culture.
2. ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis.
Also understand that,a two week course of anti-fungal medicine, is sufficient, for treatment of fungal infection of bladder.
Under no circumstance, fungal infections are fatal.
Drink 8-10 glasses fluids daily and maintain good genital hygiene.

the first picture is what I pass a lot and all at once. I've taken antifungal pills and it did help at first but it was like my body had stopped responding to them.

Brief Answer:
Kindly send details of tests and treatment so far.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
The urine report is what we need for an expert opinion.
The second picture is probably of cystoscopy.
The bladder appears normal.
Biopsy gives the most accurate information regarding cause of pathology, if any.
All your biopsies done so far, are normal.
I'd asked for reports of 1.urine c/s and
2.ultrasound scan of abdomen.
These reports are not yet made available.
Anti-fungal treatment course is for a period of two weeks. Have you completed it.
Have you had sex with multiple partners.
You should get your blood routine, sugar and VDRL,HbsAg and HIV test done.
Kindly mention, if you've symptoms of itching or discharge from vaginal area.
Giving these details, help in advising you correctly.
Wish you well.

I know that it's a fungal infection and how I got it and how long I've had it. I had to figure it all out myself because Dr's kept giving up on me because they couldn't figure this out. I've been tested for everything with negative results. 3 biopsies. I even tricked my dr into giving me the meds I thought I needed. oddly enough it worked. it was diflucan. my symptoms and pain eased...I knew it wasn't enough meds to kill it but it gave me a better idea of what I was dealing with. the urinalysis that is normal was taken a week after I was on the meds. Huge
difference. I told my dr what I did and he was intrigued. he put me on stronger meds, but now the fungus has become resistant to the meds. symptoms are coming back. My dr is too busy for me and I'm not sure what to do now. I've been to many drs who couldn't help me because they don't know what to do. it scares me.

Brief Answer:
Be XXXXXXX with your doctor and get relevant tests done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
As an Urologist, let me advise you, that fungal infection can't be diagnosed on urinalysis alone. Urine culture is mandatory.
The changes caused by it, if any, are seen on ultrasound scan.
Blood parameters will reflect the other changes in blood, and the urinary system.
A doctor can't be tricked into prescribing, without having a definite diagnosis.
You can get relief only by co-operating with your doctor, and revealing your history and symptoms in detail.
Wish you good health.

I told my dr I had a vaginal yeast infection and needed diflucan. I knew that if I was dealing with a fungus in the bladder, it would help me understand what it was if the meds helped my bladder. a week later, symptoms were gone and so was the pain. when I told my dr what I had done, he ordered a cystoscopy immediately to see if it did indeed help. He was amazed by what he saw. although the fungus was still there, it shrunk a lot. We knew then what we were dealing with...but now it just seems hard to get him to see me because he is so busy. I am currently looking for another urologist who can and will help me.
thanks for your advice. it means a lot!! Hope you have a wonderful night.

Thanks, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
For proper advice,send all reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
You had a catheter( tube), to empty the bladder.
This was done, as you couldn't pass urine on your own.
The blood reports and ultrasound scan reports aren't send.
As you must have said symptoms are persisting,a cystoscopy is the routine test.
Don't jump to conclusions, that it was a fungal infection, as the medication you were given, is to help bladder empty urine.
Your anxiety is taken care of by Effexor.
Hope you have a review with that doctor.
You're welcome to clear all your doubts here.
Wish you well.

He tested for everything out there, he even had them to weird tests for weird diseases. I had 3 different biopsies. The results were all negative. This is the only thing that makes sense to me.
I'm gonna be turned in to a lab rat, aren't I?! I really don't do well in closed and refined spaces. :)
All kidding aside, this is just plain exhausting. How can noone figure this out????

Brief Answer:
Same tests are done for everybody. reports essential for a diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX XXXXXXX try to understand that, without knowing blood sugar report, it's not possible to diagnose Diabetes in a person.
Similarly, your reports are essential to advise you further treatment.
There're no weird tests or diseases. Only tests needed are advised.
Your bladder biopsy was repeated by several Urologists, to be sure, they're not missing anything. There're certain type of conditions, where no cause is made out.
If it's fungal as you doubt, the urine culture confirms it.
Certain changes are well seen on the scan.
The blood tests reports, i'd advised you to send, are very essential in advising you, further treatment.
You had a catheter, because you couldn't pass urine on your own.
All people with your kind of symptoms, undergo the same set of tests.
Hope you understand now, why these tests reports are being asked for.
Wish you good health.
