Brief Answer:
Hospitalisation only for a day for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxx,
Gall bladder removal can be done by Open Surgery or Laparoscopic. Nowadays usually it is done by Laparoscopic method for which we admit a night prior or morning of surgery and discharge the patient the next day provided all is well.
However, Open surgery recovery usually takes longer than this and takes 4 to 5 days in hospital after surgery.
There fore it would depend upon the type of surgery and if all goes well during surgery.
Take care,
