Suggest Treatment For Gastroenteritis

Question: I have been suffering from gastroenteritis and now have an inflamed esophagus from vomiting. What can I take to ease this pain? I saw a physician yesterday and they diagnosed but said to Prilosec for this. I am but it has not kicked in yet. Anything else I can take to ease this discomfort?
Brief Answer:
can add meds such as gaviscon, peptobismol or milk of magnesia
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Yes, prilosec and other members of that family of drugs can sometimes take a few days to kick in.
You can try using meds such as peptobismol, gaviscon, milk of magnesia that would coat the lining of the stomach and esophagus and may help to give you some relief
One of these can be used along with the prilosec.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
