Question: When I was conceived, my mother had months before had the remove of an atypical hydatidiform mole. I have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. As a child, I knew I was a girl but my body was different. I had a female habitus even before I went on HRT, I had a female habitus. When I entered adolescence, I first experience at around the age of 11 breast growth. I ended up with an A cup within a year. Then it slowed. I then started to go through a male puberty, yet I still had a pain in my abdomen every month cyclically. I continue to have it to this day and sometimes it renders me unable to continue my activities and sometimes it is not noticeable. Once a month I do have swelling around my breasts as well as bloating. This was even before HRT. HRT made all of my female cyclical symptoms more pronounced. I have two questions. Could this be an intersex condition and which one? And please inform me on anything you can based on the information I provided in terms of what I should be advised of. Thank you. (I am considered a Male to Female Transsexual)

Brief Answer:
Please provide more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I had gone through your question very diligently and I really appreciate your concern

At the outset I would like further information to help you better
Since how long you have started on HRT?
Are you getting menses?
Have you ever ordered for karyotype study or hormonal study if yes, than please upload me the reports.

In my opinion this can be ascertained by physical examination of external genitalia and karyotype studies which means chromosomes study for sex chromosomes like XX or XY to correct comment about your gender (sex)

Please write back to me with these details so that I will be able to tell you more accurately
Best wishes

Hello Dr. Hudda:

Please excuse me for the late delay. I have been busy with grad school activities. In concerns of the questions you gave to me, I have been on hormone therapy for a little over 27 months. I do not know if I get menses as I cannot see it. Although during my period, I do get all of the symptoms of bloating, water retention, breast sensitivities, and a whole lot more. I track this activity with an app the Hormone Horoscope that tracks when ovulation would occur. I have never had a karyotype test or a hormone study. I approached my last endocrinologist who told me "This is what happens when you are on estrogen." The fact that this has been happening since I was 12 and not on any hormone therapy is making me wonder. I have yet to have another endocrinologist look at this, but right now I am experiencing these issues. I just have many years of my experience to go from.

Please consider these guidelines

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again
In my opinion instead of going for endocrinologist, you should visit a gynaecologist for physical examination, an ultrasound or hysterosalpingography to see for any structural defect in urogenital tract.

Hope this answers your question
Best wishes
