Suggest Treatment For Hand Foot And Mouth Disease

Question: My grandson had hand foot and mouth disease about three weeks ago.he seemed to get over it but two days ago my Daughter put on a new snow suit to go out in the cold and he developed a red rash on his face the back of his hands and feet and ankles.when she took of the suit the rash gradually faded but re appeared when she put on a suit the following day that he had worn many times before .she took him to the doctor and he thought it was more likely to be caused by the hand foot and mouth virus than by an allergy.I am worried about complications from hand foot and mouth.what would you advise
Brief Answer:
Rash
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just red through your question.
I do not believe that the rash is relates to the hand, foot, and mouth disease. I believe that the appearance of the rash when a suit is put on, is not a coincidence. I do believe that it is likely that you are observing a contact allergic reaction. I understand that one of the suits has been worn many times before. However, even in such a case, the rash could still happen. I would look into what types of detergents are being used to clean the suits. Perhaps this is a detergent that hasn't been used in the house before. I would consider having him seen by a pediatric allergist and get an opinion.

Brief Answer:
Vomiting
Detailed Answer:
the new information raises two possibilities. This could be an allergic reaction to something that was ingested. Often it can result in vomiting, and then on and off rash for 1 to 2 weeks. The other possibility is that of a viral illness. Viral illnesses can incubate in the body for several days. They can result in one or two episodes of vomiting, followed by rash. In the case of a virus the rash typically lasts one to two weeks before resolving. In both cases if the rash last beyond 7 to 10 days, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
