Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending your question.

It sounds like you may be dealing with a viral syndrome. This can sometimes lead to fluctuation in body temperature, chills and shivering as well as sometimes muscle aches.

however, at the same time we need to make sure that you do not have some type of systemic bacterial infection. This can be caused by pneumonia or sometimes by urinary tract infections which progress over time. If you continue to have shivering and chills I think it would be to your benefit to be seen in your local emergency department for immediate evaluation.

You could try taking some Tylenol to see if this helps but I am concerned that if you have persistent chills it could reflect an infection that needs to be treated with antibiotics.

if you have a local medical facility or urgent care facility I think it would be reasonable to be seen as soon as possible for evaluation.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
