Brief Answer:
You will need diuretics and newer bronchodilators.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having old age, heart disease and COPD (lung disease).
COPD is chronic progressive lung disease. When it is seen with heart diseases, prognosis is not good.
In my opinion, you should discuss with your pulmonary doctor about starting diuretics and newer bronchodilators.
Newer bronchodilators like indacaterol, gycopyrinium etc are now available. These are having ultra long action.
These might give you more symptomatic relief.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Being alone is not easy as the VA has supplied me w/a woman who cleans for me, makes me lunches, dinners and sometimes shops for me..all taken care of by the VA. I still hvetohave about 50 feet of plastic attached to my nose and I still hate it...but what can I do? I want to thank you for your advice .
