Suggest Treatment For Heavy Bleeding On Completing First Dose Of Mifegest
Question: Sir, my wife was 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and since we had twin kids a year and half back, we didnt want to continue with this pregnancy. She had taken the first dose of Mifegest kit on 10th of Sept night and the second dose of two tablets vaginally on 12th night. She had heavy bleeding after 2 hours of taking the second dose and continued for a week or so until 20th of Sept. she had been recovering well for last 3 days and today morning (24th Sept) again she started bleeding. I am bit panic about this. Though I am going to go to a doc in another 3 to 4 hours. Need your advise on this. Please help.

Actually medical abortion should always be carried out under medical supervision.
Also the dosage you have taken is not proper.
Totally 4 tablets of Misoprostol should be taken, after mifegest, and you have taken only 2.
It is not the complete dosage.
Plus, pregnancy should be dated and documented by a doctor , was this done ?
Bleeding after medical abortion can continue for 2 - 3 weeks, so do not panic.
As long as it is not heavy , with clots / pieces and lots of pain, it is fine.
There is always a 4 % risk of failure of the medical pills, so please consult a gynecologist at the earliest.
Get an ultrasound scan done ( transvaginally ) to know if the abortion was clear or there are some tissues still left inside the uterus.
Please let me know the scan report.
