Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids

Question: Hi
I am 66, suffered with hemorrhoids for decades. A week ago one hardened so I took twice daily baking soda tepid sitz baths. Unfortunately that softened them and yesterday one started bleeding, not profusely but just spotting. This is uncomfortable but of more concern is that I have low platelets (110) and it will take many days to stop. Now I am also constipated. I plan to take Senokot-S tonight. Is there risk of infection? Should I take more sitz baths? Can I sit? I am on candida diet. Thanks

I can understand your concerns.

Easy evacuation of soft stool is very useful in management of hemorrhoids. So take senokot-S . If it does not work then add syrup polyethylene glycol. I found it very useful in my patients with constipation.

No there is no risk of infection and nor harm in sitting

Take sitz bath 3-4 times a day

Some other treatment for hemorrhoids which I recommend to my patient and found it very useful are:
1. Tab calcium dobesilate 500 mg thrice a day to be taken for 2 weeks
2. Tablet containing Euphorbia prostrata dry extract (Brand name Sitcome Forte od) to be taken for 2 weks

Both these drugs are avalable OTC
