Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids

Question: Hi. About a week ago I went to walk in clinic because I had a bump on the outer rim of my anus. It wasn't blue or anything it kinda had a white head and was a little red. The doctor told me it was a hemorrhoid and prescribed me Proctodan-HC ointment to use on it and inside. I have been using it for a week now and it has only gone down in size but now I looked and notice a bunch of tiny white bumps surrounding the rim of my anus. This one hemorrhoid also still has a little white head and still hasn't gone away. Could this be a reaction? Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
External hemorrhoids

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

What you are talking about is called sentinel piles or external hemorrhoids. It occurs when there is engorgement of a vein in the perianal area and it outpouches in a bag of skin. Even if the venous engorgment regresses, the outpouching of the skin remains. So, it is unlikely to go away completely.

You need not be concerned if you can avoid getting constipated. You need to take plenty of green leafy vegetables and fiber supplements. You also need to avoid red meat and spicy food.

Regards
