Question: I have received a diagnosis of Herpes Simplex II. This is my first break out. How long after exposure should I have, (on average best percentages ect) the first out break? I need to trace back to where it originated with the mostly like scenario. I am male and have been with only one partner for the last 5 years.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
2-12 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

2-12 days is the time between exposure and disease. 4 is the average number of days. Keep in mind that viral shedding may occur even when there are no visible lesions so a patient previously infected with the virus may transmit it to susceptible individuals.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
