Constipation is a very rare side effect of H2 blockers like Ranitidine however some people complains of constipation.
I would suggest you to take a laxative for few days.They are substances that loosen stools and increase bowel movements hence would prevent impaction of stools. Lactulose can be taken 10-30 ml once daily at night time with half cup of XXXXXXX warm water.Bulk-forming laxatives, also referred to as fiber supplements, are the gentlest on your body and safest to use long term. Metamucil and Citrucel fall into this category.They imbibe water swells up and help in excreting stools.
Other natural laxative you can try is Senna, which contains sennosides, is extracted from the senna plant. Because of the way it works on the bowels, senna is classified as a stimulant laxative. Stimulant laxatives stimulate the nerve plexus in the intestinal wall, causing the muscles to squeeze and contract to move stool out.
Stop taking Zantac instead take one cup of ice chilled milk in morning and at night(neutralizes acid).
Some natural options are-
Celery sticks and cabbage will also minimize stomach acid.
Baking soda is a natural antacid. Mix between 1/2 and 1 teaspoon of baking soda with a glass of water to neutralize acid.

I am interested in more natural approaches to limiting the acid....however, I do not like milk and have a hard time drinking it. I am able to do vanilla ice cream, would that be close enough milk to be a possible substitute?

If milk doesn't suits you leave it.
Take powder of roasted cumin and coriander seeds (25 gm each) and mix with 50 gm of sugar. Take half spoon of it 3 times a day.
Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink.
Drink 100-500 ml of tender coconut water twice a day(sunstitute of milk)
Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, XXXXXXX leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner.
You could eat an overripe banana to beat an especially bad bout of acidity.
If you feel an acidity attack coming on, chop some mint leaves, add them to a pot of boiling water and drink the liquid after it cools. Mint helps in lowering the acid content of the stomach and improves digestion. It also has a cooling effect which helps to reduce the pain and burning associated with acid reflux
To relieve acidity crush two pods of cardamom (with or without the skin), boil the powder in water and drink the cooled juice for instant relief.
Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama,Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama.
