You need a drug / discussed below in detail
Detailed Answer:
Hi friend
Welcome to Health Care Magic
There are several classes of drugs and several drugs in each class
There is a real choice in the drug and the dose…
Bystolic is a beta-blocker / one of the several classes of drug to treat hypertension / it could very well be changed – to another class, as you feel
Diovan is Valsartan – an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (usually called ARB, or angiotensin receptor blocker),
Zestril is Lisinopril – an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI), used alone or in combination with other medicines
The effects of the two are similar / less cough with ARB
We generally start an ARB / there are several of them – Valsartan, Telmisartan, Olmesartan etc.. Choose one – say Olmesartan / start a small dose; step up later, depending on the pressure, until stable. At times, a second class of drug – like a Diuretic or Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB) – can be added.
Your primary care physician could choose for you and give appropriate prescription.
LIPITOR is atorvastatin – cholesterol-lowering drug / it has nothing to do with blood pressure / Some start it straight away – even with normal cholesterol levels – even without problems (Primary Prophylaxis
Good luck
God bless you
