Brief Answer: Hi, Could you upload the reports please? Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX My name is Vinay. Thanks for coming to Healthcaremagic.com. Let me see if I can give you some basic information and help you decide what needs to be done next. First off though I'd really appreciate it if you could upload this bloodwork to our site so I can see it directly. I'll be able to get a better idea of whats going on there. Could you tell me what symptoms prompted your husband to get this blood work done? Or was it part of a routine physical? His cholesterol levels are definitely high and that needs to be worked on. I've noted that he has been started on Crestor today and thats a good thing. It should help bring this under control. Mild, daily, Cardio exercises also help but given his history of heart disease I'd recommend he check with his doctor before embarking on an exercise regime. His serum Ferritin levels are high as you pointed out. That's itself is not all that rare, but it probably should be looked into further. Some liver diseases including Hemochromatosis manifest with high ferritin levels (I'm not saying he has this, i'm just saying that it might need to be looked into further). The CK is definitely out of range too. But not really all that high. CK just shows that there has been some higher than normal muscle and tissue turn-over in the body (old cells getting killed off faster and new ones growing faster than usual). It could also be a sign that he was dehydrated at the time of the test. I hope he hydrates regularly (it'll even help the cholesterol if he does) All of the labs you have mentioned here could very loosely be related to the liver. Does your husband have any history of Liver disease? Does he drink (as in alcohol) and if so, how often and how much? Also. I'd really like to see his Liver Function Tests (LFTs) if they have been done. I hope this helps. Try and upload those tests and we can discuss thing in greater detail. You and your husband take care and thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic.com
