Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Body Itching When Diagnosed With Chikungunya

Question: My Father has recently diagnosed with doubt of chickengunya as he had high fever around 24hours back and now its normal not high, but having swelling in hands and pain in joints. He is 73yrs old and currently taking paracetamol 650mg after consulting. Could you please let me know the correct line of treatment along with precautions and diet so that he can recover fast. He is not diabetic and not having chief complaint of critical illness in the past.

Fever was high around 48hours back not its not high but body itching and joint pain is there, could you please let me know the symptoms for the same and correct line treatment/time to recover fully.

Thanks for the reply, here is the update on the symptoms:

1 Redness of eye and face = No
2 high fever with headache = No
3 Joint pain = Yes
4 Skin rashes = No

The fever was high around 48 hours back but now weakness is there with itching in whole body. Taking only juices, light food as appetite is not much. How long does it take to fully recover. Blood tests are needed at this stage or can be ignored as symptoms are more or less related to viral not chickengunya i believe, please correct in case of wrong understanding with correct line of treatment before starting the medicines.

I would strongly suggest you to go for blood test. Don't ignore the symptom and make do not speculation about the disease only on the basis of visible symptom. At this age some time symptom may be due to any other disease. so this is always good to rule out the disease accurately.
This will also rule out the case its a chicken gunia or viral infection or any thing else.
