Looks like common cold probably viral use only saline nasal drops
Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
Cough and cold are viral 95% of the times in children. For cold you cannot use anti-allergics like cetirizine in this age group and for nose block, saline nasal decongestants will do.
Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly, that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
For nasal block, plain saline nasal drops will do, use them, 1 drop in each nostril every 4-6th hourly to relive nasal congestion.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,

I checked the temperature but it's not above 99,but we touch her body it seems to be hot. Do you still suggest using paracetamol drops for the baby.
and nasal drops, how many days can we use it safely if we administer it daily? tough the nose seems to be clean when I use it, she is having plum behind which is not coming out. is there any way to clear it.
Thanks in advance.
sorry to miss another point doctor, baby is refusing to feed from 2 days, she just drinks for 2 minutes and starts crying. is this because of cold?
No Paracetamol if no fever - feed refusal is due to blocked nose
Detailed Answer:
Hi...coming to your queries one by one -
1. You should give Paracetamol only if fever is above hundred degrees Fahrenheit when checked with thermometer. Baby's body feeling hot is because the baby's basal metabolic rate will be more as she is growing kid.
2. To clear the phlegm or mucus behind the nose you can give a small mucus suction or bulb sucker. But usually it will not be necessary.
3. Refusal of feed like this or feeding for only less amount of time is because of blocked nose, as the babies in this age are obligate nose breathers. If the baby's urine output is appropriate then it means her milk intake is appropriate.
