Suggest Treatment For Hip And Lower Back Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Dec 2016
Question: My leg suddenly hurts terribly. It felt as though my right hip came out of the socket. I had xrays done, they were found to be normal. No hip problems. But I can attest to the fact that I can hardly walk, barely get out of a chair, my life is practically on hold.

Brief Answer:
Get investigated and take treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Pain around hip or lower back can be due to disc prolapse, hip pathology, sacroiliac joint involvement or proximal myopathy.
If imaging is normal for lumbar spine and pelvis, then blood investigations like Thyroid profile, vitamin D and creatinine phosphokinase should be done.
Examination by a neurologist can diagnose the disease.
If all investigations are normal, then possibility of fibromyalgia should be kept.
Drugs like pregabalin or amitryptiline or gabapentin can be used.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
