Brief Answer:
Hives not due to hernia
Detailed Answer:
Helo. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Hives are not due to hernia. Hives/ urticaria can be due to numerous causes like infections, drugs/medications, food/food preservatives, autoimmune disorders like thyroid, connective tissue disorders etc. However a majority of patients with hives there may not be any identifiable underlying cause I.e they are idiopathic.

Can it be from a positive rheumatoid factor which mine was 56. doctor tested my blood for thyroid marker but it was fine. He doesn't think it's related to rheumatoid factor. The hives come out in the cold when I am sleeping or if I go to the ice hockey rink to see my daughter play
Brief Answer:
I suggest a few investigations and symptomatic treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Physical urticaria is a type of urticaria which can happen in response to cold, heat, pressure, friction, sunlight, sweating etc. It is chronic and treatment is symptomatic. I suggest you to take a tablet of cetrizine 10mg once daily in evening.
I suggest basic investigatiins like complete blood count, liver function tests including viral markers and test for cryoglobulins. Rheumatoid factor could be a reason for circulating cryoglobulins
