Brief Answer:
I need to have further medical data of yours...

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and I need to have a few more details before running into final conclusions:
- When was your last time that you consumed the chili?
- During this two months this was the first time you consumed the chili?
- Did you noticed some thing strange with the chili (bad odors or changing colors of the chili)?
- This was the first time you experienced hyper-motility of GI?

Looking forward to have your details in for a more specific answer!
Thank you!
Dr.Klerida

Dr. Shehu, Thanks for your time.
I wrote you a whole long history last night at work. There were issues with the internet service there, and it appears that you did not receive my email which was chock full of information.
I Shall try again from work tonight. Hopefully I will have more success.
Please let me know by morning if you do not receive my information. If that's the case, I will have to go to the library tomorrow and use a better computer service.
Sincerely, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Hi Dr. Shehu,
The reason I am contacting you is because I have no medical insurance thanks to Obamacare.
I have a friend who researched acetone, and it appears that my symptoms do not reflect acetone poisoning, The amount that was in the chili was very small.
However, around that same time I noticed one morning some extreme abdominal discomfort, especially my left upper quadrant. There was excessive rumbling, and very audible. This has continued, now it has been about 2 months, although the rumbling is not as pronounced (except sometimes) and now it takes place throughout my abdomen. Also I have a history of slight hiatal hernia and gerd, which has been much improved over the years since I lost about 40 lbs. Since this incident though, my stomach is uncomfortable most of the time. Not extreme pain, but just uncomfortable. These symptoms continue 24/7, whether I eat, or on an empty stomach, there is just discomfort, audible rumbling, and constant feeling of motion in my intestines throughout. Feels like a car is driving through my intestines. It seems to be non stop. I have no N/V/D. I have some constipation, but I have had that ongoing for years . I understand as one gets older constipation becomes an issue. I eat healthy, lots of salads, fish, chicken, vegetables. I drink adequate water, coffee sometimes ( I know that is not beneficial) I often add Metamucil to the bottle of water I am drinking. I have not changed my diet or added anything new. I have tried Prilosec, pepto bismol, immodium, probiotics, activated charcoal. None of these things has helped at all. I have researched IBS, Crohns, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis. Nothing seems to match the symptoms of just stomach/intestine discomfort and hyperactive GI. I did read an article about intestinal infections, but I can't find that article now. It basically talked about possible antimicrobial treatment if the good flora has been diminished. My stools seem to be unchanged, no symptoms of blood in stools, although I have not done a hemacult test. Well, I thought perhaps you could help me. The closest thing I see from my research is IBS. Please let me know your conclusion.

Brief Answer:
Stool examinations advised...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for providing more of your medical details. At this point, 2 are diagnosis that I suspect in your case:
- bacterial overgrowth syndrome
- IBS

as long as Prisolec and probiotics are not changing your medical concerns.

I advise to :
- continue with probiotics and Prisolec
- run : examination of stool for ova/parasites and culture of feces for candida

If everything will be ok, then, we can think about IBS. However, first, should rule out organic problems.

Hope it was of help! Let me know if I can be of further help!

Brief Answer:
Collect the stool sample at home according to the advise given

Detailed Answer:
Hi back dear XXXXXXX

I do not know if your nearest clinic has the same practice as is now in some countries (including mine): you can discuss with the people there at your nearest clinic. They will advise how to collect your stool and you can post the sample or send it to the clinic by yourself.

They will give the results by posting or can call you back to collect by yourself.

Hope it was of help!
