Suggest Treatment For Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura
Watch for Platelets & avoid exposure to infections
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, I can list my opinion as follows:
1. ITP is an immune mediated destruction of platelets. At your age, usually it follows a chronic course.
2. After starting Azoran, your platelets have improved to good limits, and if it stays that way for another 2 months, you can discuss with your doctor, regarding slow dosage reduction.
3. While taking Azoran, you need to watch out for jaundice and hematological parameters importantly. Get your routine complete blood counts/hemogram every 3 months.
4. Main worry with Azoran should be of infections, as it suppresses the immune system. Try to eat healthy foods and maintain a healthy life. Avoid any sort of exposure to infections. Azoran can make your skin sensitive, so you are going to get sun exposed, use a sunscreen with high SPF to avoid sun burns. If you have to start any new medication, look for interactions or discuss with your doctor regarding it.
5. Folivit is useful to should be continued as it improves the hematological parameters.
6. Regarding ITP, nothing to worry for now. Platelet counts are good.
7. Eosinophils is a bit high. Avoid exposure to dust and if you have any cold, you can take anti-histamines.
8. Hemoglobin is 10g% and is a bit low. No specific supplement is necessary. Nutritional diet rich in iron and vitamins, will improve it slowly and it should be normal within one month.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
