Brief Answer:
Better to start inhaled corticosteroids.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, he should start low dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). ICS is treatment of choice for asthma control.
Montair LC is having montelukast and levocetrizine. Montelukast is anti allergic and levocetrizine is antihistamines.
Both are add on drugs in asthma. But the main, effective drug is ICS. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss about ICS in his case.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your son.
Thanks.

I spoke to his doctor...He has been looking after him for last 7 years.Usually my does doesnt need any medication in this weather.
Doctor has asked me to continue Montair LC for next 4 months and not to discontinue . Is there any side effects of this tablet for this 6 months usage.Does this tablet has any dependence on it after this long usage.
Kindly advice as I am totally confused.

Brief Answer:
no need to worry as this drug is safe for long term use.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
First line Treatment of asthma is low dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).
It is very safe in long term use and provides excellent symptomatic control.
Montair LC is combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drugs. Both are add on drug.
These drugs are also safe for long term use. No need to worry for long term side effects.
I was trying to say that if he starts ICS than probably he will not require Montair LC.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query.
