Suggest Treatment For Increased Anxiety
Anxiety
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you have been experisncing increased anxiety. We all go through times of increased anxiety. This is normal and even the elevation in blood pressure is normal. It is not dangerous to have mild elevations once in a while. Elevated blood pressures that are consistently high is dangerous and can cause strokes or heart attacks. I do not think you are at risk of that.
To help with your anxiety I would strongly recommend you get a work book called " The anxiety and phobia workbook" by Dr. Bourne. It wil teach you cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). If you apply the principles and techniques in the book you can reduce your anxiety without having to take any medications and will give you a better overall mental health. Studies show that doing CBT is as effective as taking medication. So I highly recommend you try this first. In conjunction with the CBT you may consider going to a therapist who can help guide you through CBT training.
