Question: As im falling asleep i can feel my heart rate go up to around 75 beats per min and feel kinda weak all over. As soon as i sit up it goes away then comes back just as im about to fall asleep. It gmhas happened off and on since i was around 18 and now 32 Ive had 2 echos and numerous ekgs, stress tests, labs and holters. The only thing that was found was pvcs which were deemed to be benign. I was worried about ventricular tachacardia or something similar. Also i suffer from anxiety and take medication for that.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not cardiac related.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully passed through your question and would explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to any cardiac disorder. Your cardiac performed tests have excluded any cardiac disorders possibly related to this symptomatology.

So try to relax and do not worry about it!

Coming to this point, anxiety remains the most probable cause of your symptoms.

I would recommend discussing with your attending physician on the possibility of optimizing your anxiety therapy (increasing the doses or switching to other therapies).

I would also advise performing thyroid hormone levels, because thyroid dysfunction can trigger this symptomatology.

Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
