Question: Sir,my daughter is 16 months old.her liver size is 12.6cm and doctors say hepatomegaly. Is it serious. And treatment has to be done

Hepatomegaly or increased liver size is not a condition in itself. It could be a manifestation of some underlying process although it could be normal as well. The underlying cause needs to be evaluated. But it is unlikely to be serious. It needs clinical examination as well as some blood tests like liver function test. It is not possible for me to do so remotely. I suggest that you remain under the follow up of your doctor and rely on his judgements. Treatment depends upon the cause. However, you can present your query to me anytime and I shall try to help you out.
