Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I had an ultra sound and a ct scan for pain in the upper right of my side and now they want to do a hiatus scan since I have an enlarged liver with 2 small cysts. They were looking for gall bladder disease but what else are they looking for? What about the enlarged liver? What could that mean?
Honestly it sounds somewhat odd. The size of a “normal” liver can vary and small cysts are so unimportant that you can forget them right away. Maybe I’m missing something, but what the heck are they doing with you? If a physician wants to know how your live is, he’ll order a lot of blood-tests and etc. The CT is stone-age, what are they doing to you?
Anyway, make sure that they don’t bombard you with too much radiation. Hiatus scan, fine, but please without further radiation. Sonography is okay, MRI as well. Both do not use x-rays.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
