Additional information required
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
Vomiting in a one year old baby is likely to be due to Gastrooesophageal reflux. But GERD does not usually lead to distension of abdomen.
I would require following additional information for me to be able to assist you further , kindly request you to provide the same
1. What is the duration of his complaints
2. Does he accept feed well
3. Is he passing stools regularly? Any excessive cry while passing stools ? What is color and consistency of stools ?any blood in stool ?
4. Is the vomiting clear like gastric content or yellow like bile ?
5. Is he gaining weight adequately?
6. Is the whole abdomen distended ? (Providing clinical photograph will be helpful )
Awaiting your response
Take care

Symptoms due to gastric reflux
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
From The description given it is likely to be due to Gastroesophageal reflux with associated gastritis as the cause of symptoms. In majority of cases it’s related to introduction of new feeds. As you have started him on Lactose free feeds that’s good indeed.
I would suggest you the following
1. Antacid like Lansoprozole along with anti-emetic like Domperidone will be helpful. Discuss about this with your doctor.
2. Burp the baby well after feeds
3. Consider adding soya milk, it is hypoallergic and proteinaceous
4. Avoid Lactose preparation for next one week, you can consider re-introducing it once the baby is fine.
Apart from this go slow on introducing new feeds. It is important that you start introducing a variety of food in your toddler's diet gradually. These will provide the calories, proteins, vitamins and minerals that are essential for his growth. The amount of food eaten would vary from child to child and would also depend on when you introduce a particular food to your toddler. Most of the times, it is "Try and Error" method.
Lots of patience would be required from your end to find out what is that diet which tickles your toddler’s taste buds which also contains maximum nutrients.
You need to try multiple ones and find which your child loves to eat amongst those.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life,
Take Care

Deepak
