Suggest Treatment For Infected Sebaceous Cyst
Question: I had an infected sebaceous cyst drained a couple of days ago. The incision is draining a clear yellow fluid. Is this normal or should I call my Dr? The pain and swelling have greatly subsided.
Brief Answer:
This is normal, no need to call a Doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and proper history.
It is absolutely normal to have clear yellow fluid draining from the incision. This is a serum oozing out of the raw wound surface. This is a good sign of healing.
The great reduction of pain and swelling is another sign of good healing.
Augmentin is a great choice and please continue in proper dosage as you have been advised.
Draining of an abscess is a great treatment in itself.
Continue with sterile dressings.
It is not needed to call a Doctor at the moment.
Wishing you early and complete recovery.
I hope this answer satisfies your query.
