Suggest Treatment For Infertility After An Abortion
Other factors need evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXXXX,
From your history what I gather is that you are having regular menses and also are ovulating regularly. However, I could not get any information nor the details about the infection due to which you lost your previous baby at 23 weeks.
What sort of infection was it? Did it affect you only, baby only or both of you? I would appreciate if you update me about this information. It is very likely that the infection you had could have blocked the tubes and hence the sperms cannot reach the ovum that is released.
I would like to have you undergo Hysterosalpingography in which X-ray of uterus and tubes is taken by filling in radio-opaque XXXXXXX in them. This will inform us about the status of the tubal patency and the uterine cavity also.
Also, please undergo Laparoscopy to find about the external appearance of the reproductory organs and the condition of the pelvis.
Please upload the reports and images of the investigations suggested after which I may be better equipped to advise you further regarding the further management and/or any more investigations. Also I would appreciate if you load all the investigations that have been previously carried out in evaluating your fertility problem.
If you want any more information, I am always available for you, XXXXXX.
Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
Please get the requested investigations done
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXXX,
Parvo virus causes destruction of red blood cells and thus kills the foetus due to resultant severe anaemia.
However, usually this infection is not known to cause infertility later in life. Since you had conceived previously and have given birth to healthy children in the past, and this pregnancy was lost due to specific viral infection of the foetus, I would say that your potential for conception should not be doubted. Moreover, your ovulation has been confirmed.
I therefore would like to stick to my previous advice of getting the anatomical problems if any in the reproductory organs. So please get Hysterosalpingography and Laparoscopy done.
It is likely that during the process of miscarriage, you could have contacted minor infection which could have lead to tubal or intrauterine adhesions.
I am looking forward for the reports and the images of the requested investigations uploaded.
