Brief Answer:
Yes,advice to get a tetanus shot right away
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Your case in short:
- did step on Nile
- no blood came out
- tetanus shot over 12 years ago
The last tetanus shot can protect for 10 years only. You have more than 10 years to get one, so if I was your caring doctor would advise to take a shot right away. Hope the accident happened within the last 24hours.
All the best.

Should i still go and got the shot ?
Brief Answer:
Yes,if it has more than 5 years to get the shot...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
If it is more than 5 years, at your age, yes, should take as precaution.
Although we accept 10 years protection, if the patient has taken the last shot longer than 5 years, then, I always advice another shot.
All the best!
