Suggest Treatment For Injury On Ingestion Of Plastic Wrapper

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Nov 2014
Question: Hi,
amonth ago I swallowed a 2 x 1.5 cm piece of plastic chocolate bar wrapping.
It's from the end of the bar wrapping, so it's double, and crenelated, with jaggered edges.
It's flexible, but less flexible than the single wrap along the trunk if the bar wrapping.
I felt it was stuck in my throat.
The following morning I vomited twice after drinking tea. Saw no plastic.
Still felt pain.
I checked a similar sample of the wrapper plastic which was seen to float.
Ever since then I have had pains in my stomach, now its a month later.
Surely ths should have passed through by now?

Brief Answer:
Get endoscopy done to confirm any injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

It's definite that it has passed through by now.
Pains in stomach may be because of the injury or gastritis.
I would advise you to consult with the gastroenterologist and get an endoscopy done to rule out any injury.

Hope my answers have helped you.

Thanks.
