Suggest Treatment For Intense Itching On Forearm
Starting about six weeks ago and mostly at night, my left forearm has itched quite a bit. I'll scratch it and then the itch becomes worse. It eventually subsides and I can fall asleep again. There are no visible indications of a rash on my forearm. This happens every couple of nights, but now it starts to itch during the daytime.
I currently take 10mgs Adderall XR for A.D.D. and low dose of blood pressure medicine, 25 mg Losartan and half of a 25 mg Hydrochlorothiazide along with several other supplements. Fish oil, men's multi Vit, CoQ10 400mg, Vit D3, 1000 IU, Bausch and Lomb PerserVision and Glucossamine. I have been taking this mix for years, but just starting taking the adderall during March of this year.
Suggestions????
liver tests, vitamins
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question,
Itching can come from many things. Because it is isolated to your arm it is probably just a skin condition but it would still be a good idea to have your doctor check liver enzymes. Sometimes liver irritation may cause itching. It is good that you are taking a multivitamin so continue that. Drink plenty of water daily and make sure to exercise daily as well. Even if you just walk to 30 minutes daily it will help keep your skin and body healthy. Using lotion once or twice a day on the arm may be helpful. Keeping the area cool and avoiding friction also reduces itching.
I hope this resolves soon. If it does not then see a dermatologist.
