Brief Answer:
She is on right treatment but dose can be increased

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I reviewed prescription of your doctor and in my view she is receiving appropriate treatment as per standard guidelines.

In case she is not responding or have limited control only it is advisable to increase the dose of current medications.

If she has been my patient I would have preferred to increase dose of Valance from current 1000 mg to 1500 mg per day.

After 15 days she can be reviewed again to monitor treatment progress or in case if there is again low control, dose of Uvox should be increased to 100 mg per day.

There are other options available but in view full dose of current medications should be tried before shifting to any other medicine.

I hope this answers your query.
If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks and regards'

Dear Sir, Thanks For the quick response!
Ok I will continue the medicine as prescribed by doctor here. In relation to my mother's condition, She is on the same medication since 2.5 yrs as a result I contacted another doctor in my town and He suggested that Uvox is a kind of medicine which impacts the mental condition temporarily and in a longer period may worsen the situation. He asked me to stop that medicine on Feb this year and I can see there are frequent panic attacks since then. Now I will continue these medicines again.
Now I have a question: Is there any permanent remedy for such disorders (medical or non medical) since She is living with my Father and most of the times my father is targeted victim of her condition...is there any routine change which can help or anything which can result as permanent solution. Please yous advice is well appreciated and really a great help for me and my family.

Brief Answer:
It is treatable but not curable

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I do not know how he said about Uvox but it is clear that Uvox is doing good job for her panic attacks and it should be continued.

Most of psychiatric disorder including intermittent explosive(IED) disorder are treatable but not curable. Medications are the main stay of treatment but recently there is ample literature which suggests usefulness of meditation and yoga.
The practitioners of these ancient XXXXXXX methods claim that they achieved better control following practice of yoga. I am not strong supporter but there is no harm in practicing them for better control of IED.

In addition to this there is need to continue medication and over a time dose of medications can be decreased if she responds well and remains under control for significant portion of time.

In association to all these slight changes in home atmosphere can ield good results.
Try to make a chart of all episodes for next two months for better understanding of condition.
Chart three things
A- Antecedents- What happened before the episode
B- Behavior- What she done during episode
C- Consequences- What followed

After review of these charts a better plan can be made in regard to her treatment with simple changes in house if required.

I hope this will help you.
