Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Fever And Stomach Upset
Question: I am having intermittent fever from Saturday morning with mild stomach upset, but no vomiting. fever occurrence: 1) Saturday afternoon to midnight (mild fever) 2)Monday night to Tuesday morning( severe fever 102 with headache)3) Wednesday from 5 pm...apparently the fever comes in every 36 hours. visited the doctor on Tuesday evening and he prescribed dolo for two days and suggested to take antibiotic ( cefixime) for 5 days if fever reoccurs. doctor please advise whether I need to take any particular blood test and advice..

This erratic pattern of fever is usually seen in either sore throat or a mild intestinal tract infection.
Take antibiotic and solo as advised and wait for 2 days.
In case fever increases or persists even after that then get complete blood counts and widal test done and then we will decide accordingly.
Right now no need to take any blood test.
