Question: My 2 year old has been suffering leg pain since mid January. They did blood work in February her aso titer levels were high so they put her on amoxicillin for two weeks and did blood work again. It came down a bit but still high. They said maybe just growing pains. Since then about twice a week she's complaining of leg pain some days it's not to bad others she won't get out of bed or put any weight on her legs. She's had fevers on and off she has had diarrhea now for 4 days and fatigue and emotional outbursts.

Brief Answer:
Growing pains would not cause diarrhea. Let her get evaluated!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what your daughter is going through. I have reviewed this information fully. While the growing pains remains justified, the additional symptoms of fevers and diarrhea requires evaluation. This might signal an infection of the digestive tract which certainly needs to be addressed. She will need to have her stool examined to determine the exact cause of her symptoms. For now, the most important thing is to get her to drink as much water as possible so as to avoid dehydration. Remember diarrhea doesn't kill but dehydration does.

I hope this help. I wish your daughter a speedy recovery. Above all, do not forget increased fluids intake to compensate for losses. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to follow up with me.
