Suggest Treatment For Interstitial Cystitis
Question: Good morning. I am a patient with Interstitial Cystitis. I had a horrendous flare last night, as well as some constipation. I took Metamucil to relieve the constipation and it worked too well. I have diarrhea now, and excruciating pai, n in my urethra. I have been awake for over 24 hours now and am exhausted. None of the usual remedies are working( ie baking soda and water, water alone, itbuprofens )

Before i advise you on further medication, i would like to know few details :
1. How was the diagnosis established.Has a biopsy been done.?
2. What were the initial symptoms you had.
3. What all tests have you undergone.
Kindly send the reports.
4. What medications have you taken so far.
For the time being,you can take alkaline citrate syrup, twice or thrice daily.
Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily.

1. I had a cystoscope in 2009 which was inconclusive, but the symptoms I continue to have led my urologist to diagnose me at having Interstitial Cystitis
