Question: I had a stroke when I was 38, the pain from gas was so great in the hospital. The doctor ordered a shot and it was given inside my upper leg. He told my mother that I would have a problem with gas and bowel movement. Now I am 63 an my stomach is swollen, no pain, but lots of gas. Sometime my stool is runny an other times, I am constipated. I always feel full, but hungry. What can I do?

Hi there...
Sorry to hear that you are going through a lot of discomfort.
I would advise you to visit a gastroenterologist who might do a gastroscopy and / colonoscopy to rule out or confirm, gastritis/ indigestion/ irritable bowel syndrome.
You could take probiotics like lactobacillus. It helps in maintaining a good flora of the gut.
In addition when you wake up in the morning, drink a glass of warm water. It will help in good bowel movements.
Drink warm water at regular intervals.
Eat smaller frequent meals rather than 3 large meals.
Regular exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week.....will help in good digestion. Exercise also releases endorphins, which will make you feel good.
Sign up for yoga classes as it might help combat depression.
Hope my advice was helpful to you.
