Suggest Treatment For Itchiness And Inflammation On Lips And Mouth

Question: I ate a XXXXXXX without peeling off all the skin. Now I'm starting to experience some minor itchiness and inflammation on the lips and mouth.
Recently, I read that this is often caused by the chemical urushiol which is found in the rind of the XXXXXXX and that larger amounts are usually found in greener/unripe mangoes. In my case the XXXXXXX was not very ripe.
This is not the first time that this has happened to me. I'm certain that it is an allergic reaction to the skin of the XXXXXXX The last time this happened(about 5 years ago) my dermatologist had me on some kind of antihistemine, though I can't remember the name of it.
I'm actually wondering if a little bit of 0.05% Desonide lotion could work without actually applying it inside the mouth. Any thoughts or instructions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Do not apply desonide....a soothing lip balm is all you need!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this itchiness and inflammation of the lips that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully and there is no better explanation than the unripe mangoes. Always try to avoid the skin as this chemical is aggressive with the mucous membranes. A desonide cream is not advised. Healing would be spontaneous and all you need at this time is a soothing lip balm containing vaseline for protection. Healing will set in within 3-5days.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
